Reds sign RHP Hughes to two-year contract

Dec 26, 2017 - 9:01 PM The Cincinnati Reds signed right-handed reliever Jared Hughes to a two-year contract on Tuesday, the team announced.

The deal is reportedly worth $4.5 million. There is also a $3 million club option for 2020 with a buyout of $250,000.

Hughes, 32, spent his first six seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates before joining the Brewers. He has a 20-16 record and 2.86 ERA in 380 career relief appearances.
