TCU cracks top 10 in AP poll

Dec 25, 2017 - 6:13 PM The top four teams remained the same in the Associated Press Top 25 men's basketball poll released on Monday.

Villanova (12-) remained No. 1 by a comfortable margin, followed by No. 2 Michigan State (12-1), No. 3 Arizona State (12-0) and No. 4 Duke (12-1).

The big story may be TCU, which is undefeated and ranked No. 10, its highest ranking in history. The Horned Frogs' highest ranking poreviously was No. 12, achieved in 1952.

Texas A&M, which was No. 25 in the preseason poll, is up to No. 5, followed by No. 6 Xavier. West Virginia, which lost its opener, has won 11 straight and is up to No. 7.

Wichita State follows at No. 8, while Virginia comes in at No. 9.

North Carolina, which suffered a major upset loss to Wofford before rebounding to beat Ohio State, fell from fifth to 13th.

Miami, which lost to New Mexico State, slipped from No. 6 to No. 15, while Kentucky dropped from seventh to 16th after it loss to UCLA.
