COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina's national championship baseball coach Ray Tanner has received a raise and a two-year contract extension.

The school's board of trustees approved the new agreement which will keep Tanner with the Gamecocks through 2015. South Carolina won the College World Series in June, the first national championship among its men's athletic teams.

The deal announced Friday increases Tanner's guaranteed compensation from just over $400,000 to $510,000. Tanner also received an enhanced list of incentives that could bring his salary to more than $750,000.

The agreement also removes Tanner's buyout obligations to South Carolina if he chooses to take another baseball head coaching job.

Tanner starts his 15th season with the Gamecocks next February.
