KAN 8, DET 0What a way to open a series on the road! Seth Lugo shut out the Detroit Tigers over 7.0 innings and tied his career-high with nine strikeouts. The Royals jumped on the board early with a Bobby Witt Jr. sacrifice fly that scored Adam Frazier. To keep the Tigers scoreless, Frazier robbed a home run and turned in a double play in his first start of the season in right field! The 9th inning loomed with the score remaining at 1-0 until the Royals offense came alive. Salvador Perez and Hunter Renfroe kicked things off with a single each, followed by a Nelson Velázquez walk. Frazier and Kyle Isbel got hit by a pitch back-to-back, scoring two. Maikel Garcia came through with a 2-run single followed by a 2-run triple from Bobby Witt Jr. Vinnie Pasquantino capped off the scoring with a sacrifice fly to bring in Witt, and the Royals stormed out of Comerica Park with a big victory, and a four-game win streak.
